WHO WE ARE NOW
Duke Building Design is a locally owned building design practice based in the greater Toowoomba region, dedicated to transforming spaces with passion and precision.
Founded and led by director Colin Duke, who brings over 30 years of experience in designing new homes, renovating cherished residences, and crafting commercial and industrial projects, we thrive on bringing vision and functionality together.
OUR HISTORY
Duke Building Design started in the front room of the family home in Toowoomba in 2003. We were known as CTL Drafting Services, having just added the fourth child to the family. Colin then ventured into the business world of being self-employed.
From there, the business grew, and our first official office was in the city centre in a small one-room office above shops in Margaret Street, Toowoomba. From there, our clientele grew to the point we decided to rebrand and became the business we are today.

OUR TEAM
Colin DUKE
Colin has been working in the design field as a draftsman since leaving school; he now has over 30 years of experience.
Colin is a proud husband, father, and grandfather who spends his weekends cycling, watching motor sports of any kind, and, if the opportunity arises, attending the races.
When we asked Colin what his greatest accomplishment was in the field, his answer was simple: he was most proud of the satisfaction he brings to our valued customers when the design they have been dreaming of comes together perfectly.
Gillian YOUNG
Gillian has come to us with a Certificate 3 in support work with a prior career of 10 years of experience in administration at one of the local accounting firms in Toowoomba. As a mother of two, she dedicates her time to their needs, whether it be taking them to school, work or extracurricular activities.
Teena DUKE
Teena was born and raised in Launceston, Tasmania, until she married our director, Colin Duke and moved to Toowoomba to raise their family. Raising four children and being an active participant in her local Parent and Citizen Association and canteens, as well as actively volunteering in many of the sports her children were members of.
Teena has always been behind the scenes supporting her husband and the growth of Duke Building Design in any way possible, whether it be office maintenance, administration or running errands. She has been a big part of DBD since day one and continues to support the team.Once the children had grown up and left home, Teena filled her time doing admin at some of our local schools and now continues to work at a medical centre.
